About June’s Nest

The Story Behind June’s Nest

June’s Nest is named after my grandma, Rubee June and it’s also my middle name. My grandma cared deeply, never wanted anyone to go without, and filled her porch with windchimes, her windows with suncatchers, and she always made sure the birds were fed. In recent years, I’ve found myself doing the same, slowing down and learning to appreciate small joys.
The word “nest” felt right, like a bird building its home one piece at a time, careful and intentional, creating a space that’s safe, warm, and full of life. That’s what this space is for me. This space has become my creative hub. Whether it’s reflections on social work, personal growth, finding purpose, or creative exploration, June’s Nest is where I learn to embrace the extra.

Hi, I’m Courtney

I grew up on the east side of Indianapolis and was raised by my grandma and dad. Growing up both my parents struggled with substance use, but I always knew I was loved and that love became the foundation for my empathy and resilience. I met the love of my life at a young age, became a mom, and learned early what strength and growth really mean.
I earned my associate degree in Human Services from Ivy Tech, my BSW and Certificate in Addictions from Indiana University East, and I’m now pursuing my Master’s in Social Work. My experiences shaped my passion for helping others, seeing potential, and strengthening communities.
Recently, I’ve been rediscovering who I am beyond being a mom, leaning into creativity, trying new things, and dreaming big. June’s Nest was born as a way to step outside my comfort zone, hold myself accountable, and embrace the parts of me that make me unique. Connect With Me
